Things to Do in Parajuru, Brazil
Everything you can live during a stay in Parajuru: kitesurf on the flat water of Ceará, yoga in the garden, Brazilian cooking around one table, watercolour in the afternoon, and the rest of the coast with people we know.
A stay you shape day by day
Caju Knots is a small house in a fishing village, not an activity centre. Four experiences are created by us: kitesurf, yoga, cooking and watercolour. They are built around the day itself, the wind, the tide, who is here and what everyone feels like doing.
Around them, a few activities with local partners take you further along the coast of Ceará. Nothing is compulsory, and most guests end up mixing a little of everything.
Planned around the wind
Kite when it blows. Yoga, watercolour and cooking when it drops, or when the body asks for a slower day.
Almost everything on site
The four experiences created by us happen at the house or a few minutes away, in Parajuru.
No experience needed
Beginners are welcome in all four, and equipment or material is included.

Kitesurf in Parajuru, Ceará
Parajuru sits on the windy coast of Ceará, about 1h40 south of Fortaleza. A wide beach, a lagoon that fills at high tide for flat and shallow riding, and waves along the sandbank when you want them. It stays calm compared with Cumbuco or Taíba, which makes it a good place to learn and a very good place to progress.
Priscilla and Xavier are both IKO certified instructors and teach in very small numbers, often one instructor for one rider. Lessons, supervised sessions, rental and downwinders are arranged around your level and the conditions of the day, not around a fixed timetable.
- Around 2 hours
- All material included
- Signature Caju Knots iced tea
Yoga, mobility & recovery
Priscilla is a certified yoga teacher, and kite days are long. Sessions are private, around an hour, and take place in the shaded pavilion of the garden or wherever the light is good that morning. They are an invitation to slow down, breathe and give the body a little space.
Close to the water the practice leans towards mobility and stretching: shoulders, hips, lower back, everything a harness and a bar keep asking for. When the wind drops it becomes slower and longer. A massage can also be arranged in Parajuru whenever you feel like doing nothing at all.
- Private one-hour sessions
- Certified yoga teacher
- Massage on request in Parajuru

Brazilian cooking classes in Parajuru
Less a class than a hands-on dinner. We cook together with what Ceará gives us: caju, tapioca, fish from the village, herbs and fruit from the garden. The recipes are shaped by the places Priscilla and Xavier have lived in, between Europe, Africa and Brazil.
The session runs for around four hours, from the first ingredient to the last plate, and it ends the way it should: everyone sitting down together to eat what they have just made. It is usually the evening where guests who arrived separately leave as a table.
- Around 4 hours
- All ingredients and material included
- Cook together, then eat together
- Price : 55$

Watercolour & Paint and Sip
An afternoon of watercolour at the big table under the trees, inspired by whatever is around: the colours of the garden, a hibiscus, the rocks on the beach, the sail of a jangada. No experience is needed. Most people have not painted since school, and that is exactly the point.
Around two hours, all material included, and our signature Caju Knots iced tea in the glass beside the palette. People paint, talk, stop, start again. It is the slowest part of a stay here, and often the one guests remember.
- Around 2 hours
- All material included
- Signature Caju Knots iced tea
- No experience needed, just curiosity
Discover more of Ceará with local partners
Some things are better done with the people who do them every day. These four activities are run by partners we know personally, between five minutes and an hour from Caju Knots. We book them for you, and we tell you honestly which ones are worth your time on a given day.
How experiences fit into your stay
Nothing here is sold as a package. You tell us what you would like to try, we look at the wind forecast together, and the days are built from there: kite in the morning when it blows, yoga or watercolour in the quieter hours, cooking on the evening that suits everyone.
All of it is open to guests of the two chalés and the villa, and the prices page lists what each experience costs. If you would like to know who is behind all this first, Priscilla and Xavier tell their story here.
- Parajuru, Beberibe · 1h40 from Fortaleza
- Wind season from July to January
- Experiences booked for you before you arrive
